General Information

Regarded as the best football management game in years past, the recently released and aptly named Football Manager 2009, or FM09 for short, is a game that is as much about the sport and passion as it is about numbers. However, should the fact I could almost copy and paste my review of last year's Football Manager be of any concern to you? You would do well to read on to find out...

Pros & Cons
Pros:
  • Same successful and popular formula, but most refined to date
  • Hugely engrossing
  • New 3D match engine is a step forwards...
Cons:
  • ...but is also two steps back - it is ugly and demanding
  • Not a great deal different from last year's game
  • Very frustrating (when you're losing)

Interview with Battlestar Galacticas Colonel Saul Tigh

Interview with Battlestar Galactica's Colonel Saul Tigh - actor Michael Hogan

battlestar galactica

It was a great pleasure to do able to take part in a discussion with Battlestar Galactica's infamous Colonel Saul Tigh, aka actor Michael Hogan. Michael immediately came across as a really down to earth guy who was very passionate about the work he did.

Games Released on Friday 21st November (UK)

One or two of you might already be enjoying the much awaited Left 4 Dead on Steam, but for those of us, like me, who are yet to receive a round shiny copy, here's a list of what's out tomorrow. Notable highlights include two new racing games - Need for Speed: Undercover and Trackmania DS, and also the new Tomb Raider and Rock Band. For the third week running, though, I've sadly not got the time to write a description illuminating what each game is, but for the sake of tradition why not click "Read More" below for the full list.

Xbox 360 surpasses original Xbox worldwide sales

The Xbox 360 has surpassed the worldwide sales of the original Xbox - shifting over 25 million units. The first Xbox sold 24 million units, with the GameCube only managing 21.5 million units, while the PS2 boasts a far more impressive 122 million units. This generation, however, the 360 currently lies ahead of the PS3, which has a global unit count of only 17 million. The Wii is on 36 million, which will certainly please a few Nintendo fan boys/girls.

Game Review: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

General Information

"This is SPARTA!" wouldn’t work this time, the Prince of Persia is far more powerful than Xerxes himself, and that Sparta dude… well he would want to sharpen his skills more if he were to face the Prince.

Ubisoft’s newest title Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, is a unique game in the action/adventure genre, and without question, it sets the scale right this time, by bringing life to the genre, after it had withered.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
  • Good graphics, even great.
  • Astounding sounds.
  • Well done story.
Cons:
  • Lower graphics in playing than scenes.
  • Little moves to work with when fighting your enemies.
  • Nothing to discover when playing it again.

Game Review: Thief 3: Deadly Shadows

General Information

"Hey Garret, could you please sign this for me, I have a friend that is going crazy on me because I know you…" Those are the very words of your supplier in the Stone Market Proper District. Don't get me wrong I don't envy the man, but autographs, that is something I never expected to see in a medieval game about harsh living…
Pros & Cons
Pros:
  • New Weapons
  • Great graphics.
  • Environmental sounds.
  • Spooky.
Cons:
  • Too dark.
  • Sometimes poor AI.
